A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney – Bankruptcy & Business Reorganization to join its Philadelphia office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with extensive experience handling complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. The successful candidate will be confident managing sophisticated bankruptcy cases, appearing in court, and providing strategic legal counsel to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy and business reorganization matters.
Manage bankruptcy litigation, contested matters, and adversary proceedings.
Prepare, review, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and draft persuasive legal memoranda.
Appear before bankruptcy courts and effectively advocate for clients.
Advise clients on restructuring strategies, insolvency issues, and creditor/debtor rights.
Collaborate with partners and legal teams on high-value bankruptcy and restructuring cases.
Maintain regular communication with clients and ensure exceptional client service.
Manage multiple matters while meeting court deadlines and firm expectations.
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active admission to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Delaware Bar admission is a strong plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience handling Chapter 11 bankruptcy and business reorganization matters.
Experience representing debtors, creditors, trustees, or related parties in bankruptcy proceedings.
Strong courtroom advocacy and litigation experience.
Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and effective time management.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a legal team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with complex commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
Background in large law firm or sophisticated bankruptcy practice.
Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
