About the Job:

A well-established plaintiff litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of plaintiff-side litigation experience to join its New York office. This position focuses primarily on representing survivors in Child Victims Act (CVA) cases and offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact litigation.

Candidates with prior experience in a District Attorney's Office, particularly handling sex crimes or violent crimes, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload independently from case inception through settlement or trial.

Draft complaints, bills of particulars, discovery demands, and discovery responses.

Conduct and defend depositions.

Review and analyze medical records and other case-related documentation.

Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and the courts.

Develop case strategies and support trial preparation as needed.

Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with litigation deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Active admission to the New York State Bar.

Minimum 3 years of plaintiff litigation experience.

Experience handling all phases of civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and depositions.

Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and client communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple cases independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience prosecuting sex crimes or violent crimes in a District Attorney's Office.

Courtroom litigation experience.

Admission to Federal Court is a plus.

Experience reviewing medical records and working on sensitive, trauma-related matters.
