About the Job:

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join a well-established litigation practice focused on insurance defense. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to gain meaningful courtroom experience, manage a diverse caseload, and further develop trial advocacy skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.

Handle cases involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, construction litigation, property damage, and general liability claims.

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.

Conduct depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, and motion practice.

Represent clients in state, federal, and local courts throughout New York.

Prepare cases for trial and participate in all phases of trial proceedings.

Maintain consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Ensure compliance with litigation deadlines and court requirements while independently managing assigned matters.

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.

1–8 years of litigation experience.

Insurance defense experience is strongly preferred.

Ability to independently manage multiple cases and prioritize competing deadlines.

Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.

Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Self-motivated with a proactive approach to litigation and client service.

Preferred Experience:

Experience handling insurance defense litigation.

Trial preparation and courtroom experience.

Familiarity with New York State and Federal Court procedures.

Experience conducting depositions and attending mediations.
