About the job:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney licensed in California to manage a consumer collection litigation caseload in a fully remote environment. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with legal support staff and firm leadership while independently handling matters from initiation through resolution.

The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to efficiently manage a high-volume docket while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and legal standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Manage a consumer collection litigation caseload from filing through resolution.

Review, draft, and approve pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

Conduct court appearances, hearings, and related litigation activities.

Collaborate with legal support staff and attorneys to ensure efficient case management.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing debt collection practices.

Analyze legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.

Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and stakeholders.

Prioritize and manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and firm expectations.


Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active license to practice law in California and in good standing.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in consumer and/or commercial collection litigation.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a high-volume caseload.

Working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

Admission to practice law in additional states.

Spanish language proficiency.

Experience working in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
