About the job:

A growing workers' compensation law firm is seeking a motivated and newly admitted Associate Attorney who is eager to develop litigation skills and build a successful legal career. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills and be interested in representing injured workers throughout the claims and litigation process. Spanish language proficiency is a plus but is not required.


Key Responsibilities:

Take depositions of claimants, physicians, medical experts, and other relevant parties.

Conduct legal research and stay current with developments in workers' compensation law.

Draft appeals, rebuttals, summations, motions, and memoranda of law.

Litigate matters before Workers' Compensation Judges.

Prepare clients for hearings, depositions, and trials.

Represent claimants at hearings, trials, and depositions.

Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.

Provide strategic legal guidance on assigned matters.

Collaborate with support staff to ensure cases progress efficiently and deadlines are met.

Assist injured workers in obtaining appropriate medical care and benefits.

Perform additional legal and administrative duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines.

Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.

Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
