We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Prosecution Associate to join a leading intellectual property practice specializing in cutting-edge technologies and global innovation. This role offers the opportunity to work with top-tier clients and contribute to complex patent matters across electrical engineering and computer science domains.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with legal knowledge to support patent prosecution activities and serve as a trusted advisor to innovative organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, draft, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications

Conduct prior art searches and analyze technical disclosures

Collaborate with attorneys, inventors, and clients on patent strategy

Manage complex patent prosecution matters in EE and CS fields

Communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders when required

Support end-to-end patent portfolio development and protection strategies

Requirements:

Background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Strong English and Japanese language skills

Minimum of 2+ years of patent prosecution experience

Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Active state bar membership and compliance with CLE requirements

Strong legal writing, analytical, and technical skills

Experience working with international or cross-functional teams

Strong communication and client-facing abilities

Team-oriented and detail-focused professional
