About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer (MEP) to lead complex electrical engineering projects and provide technical leadership within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MEP consulting, electrical system design, project management, client engagement, and team leadership. This role involves managing projects across multiple market sectors, mentoring engineers and designers, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multidisciplinary engineering and design teams on complex MEP projects.
Serve as the electrical discipline lead for multiple concurrent projects.
Design and oversee innovative electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, education, biotechnology, transportation, and institutional facilities.
Manage project schedules, budgets, quality, and technical deliverables.
Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to engineers and designers.
Review engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
Ensure compliance with national, state, and local building codes and industry standards.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development efforts.
Support project planning, resource allocation, and overall project execution.
Assist with quality assurance and quality control throughout all project phases.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
10+ years of experience in MEP electrical engineering consulting.
Strong experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Proven project management experience within the MEP industry.
Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities.
Knowledge of HCAI (OSHPD) compliance requirements.
Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and low-voltage systems.
Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
Experience with sustainable and high-performance building design.
