Position: Attorney / Associate General Counsel

Location: Tennessee – Weekly In-Office

Contract: Long-term contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week

Position Overview:

We are looking for an attorney with strong litigation and trial experience to handle disciplinary and administrative law matters involving healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent the organization in administrative law cases before healthcare licensing boards.

Review complaints and investigations involving healthcare professionals.

Work with investigators and licensing board consultants.

Handle litigation, including discovery, motions, hearings, and trials.

Manage a high-volume caseload across different stages of litigation.

Negotiate resolutions and disciplinary matters.

Assist with special projects and legislative/bill analysis.

Prepare clear and professional legal documentation.

Required Qualifications:

JD degree.

Active Tennessee Bar admission with license in good standing – Required.

Litigation experience, including trial experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage and prioritize a high-volume caseload.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:

Healthcare or administrative law experience.

Professional licensing/disciplinary experience.

Government or regulatory legal experience.

Legislative or bill analysis experience.

Important:

37.5 hours/week contract position.

No state employee benefits.

Professional liability insurance is required before starting.

Weekly in-office work is required.

Writing sample of 10 pages or less required.

TN Bar license number required with submission.
