About the job:
We are seeking an experienced Attorney with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Real Estate and Land Use matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land use regulations, redevelopment projects, zoning matters, and municipal approvals. This role requires exceptional legal analysis, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise clients on land use, zoning, redevelopment, and real estate matters.
Handle permitting and approval processes before Planning and Zoning Boards.
Review and interpret land use laws, regulations, and municipal ordinances.
Manage zoning changes, variances, site plan approvals, and redevelopment applications.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and related legal documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare opinions, memoranda, and correspondence.
Represent clients before governmental agencies, boards, and other regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop strategic solutions for complex real estate and land use issues.
Maintain strong client relationships while ensuring exceptional legal service.
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active admission to the New Jersey Bar.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Real Estate and Land Use law.
Strong understanding of:
Land Use Laws and Regulations
Redevelopment Laws and Regulations
Planning and Zoning Board Procedures
Permitting and Regulatory Approvals
Zoning Changes and Development Applications
Contract Negotiation and Drafting
Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Experience representing developers, property owners, municipalities, or commercial real estate clients.
Strong client-facing and business development abilities.
Proven ability to manage complex real estate and land use matters from inception through completion.
