About the job:
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its litigation team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling Pennsylvania workers' compensation defense matters and the ability to independently manage cases through all stages of litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while providing strategic legal counsel to employers, insurers, and third-party administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, and appeals.
Conduct legal research, case analysis, and evaluations to develop effective defense strategies.
Represent clients before Workers' Compensation Judges and administrative tribunals.
Draft and file motions, briefs, settlement evaluations, and other legal documents.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, litigation strategy, risk assessment, and recommendations.
Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client service.
Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active Pennsylvania Bar license in good standing.
Minimum of 3 years of direct Pennsylvania workers' compensation defense experience.
Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania workers' compensation laws, procedures, and litigation practices.
Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to prioritize competing deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, and electronic document management systems.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team-oriented environment.
