About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join a high-performance team supporting mission-critical infrastructure and industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of PLC-based control systems. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, operational reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation System Design
Design and develop PLC-based control systems for industrial automation applications.
Select appropriate hardware, software, and control strategies based on project requirements and industry standards.
Support system integration and commissioning activities.
Control Panel Engineering:
Create and maintain detailed industrial control panel drawings using CAD software.
Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Assist in the development and review of electrical schematics and control documentation.
PLC Programming & Troubleshooting:
Program, test, and debug PLC and HMI applications for new and existing systems.
Troubleshoot control logic, communication networks, and automation equipment both remotely and on-site.
Perform system validation and support startup activities to ensure optimal performance.
Process Documentation:
Develop and maintain process flow diagrams and automation documentation.
Ensure accurate version control and update documentation following software or hardware modifications.
Maintain comprehensive records of automation projects, electrical drawings, and operational procedures.
Training & Technical Support:
Assist in creating and updating troubleshooting manuals, technical guides, and operating procedures.
Provide technical support and training to operators, maintenance personnel, and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineering and field service teams to resolve technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
United States Citizenship required.
3–5 years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or related fields.
Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal, including S7-1200/S7-1500 PLCs and Unified HMI programming.
Experience with Autodesk 2D CAD.
Knowledge of industrial I/O systems and control panel design.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with UL508A standards.
Understanding of industrial networking concepts and network security.
Experience with Modbus TCP/IP and RS232 communication protocols.
