Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst   

Location: Remote (Occasional onsite meetings in Oklahoma City, OK)  

Duration: Long-Term Contract  

Job Summary

The Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a multi-year modernization initiative that will replace legacy pension administration systems with a modern, cloud-based Azure platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to analyze business processes, gather requirements, document workflows, develop user stories, and support testing activities throughout the SDLC.

 Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Gather and document business and functional requirements.
• Create process maps, workflow diagrams, and business documentation.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and Azure DevOps work items.
• Collaborate with business users, developers, testers, and product owners.
• Develop test plans, test cases, and execute functional testing.
• Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Track defects, validate fixes, and ensure solution quality.
• Act as the liaison between business and technical teams.
• Assist with documentation, training materials, and change management activities.

Required Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Business Analyst experience.
• Strong experience with business process analysis and documentation.
• Ability to create workflow diagrams, process maps, and swimlane diagrams.
• Experience writing user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar work management tools.
• Experience developing test cases and supporting functional testing and UAT.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Environment

Experience working in Agile environments and supporting enterprise application modernization projects involving Azure cloud technologies is highly preferred.
