About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with a strong background in Tort Defense to join a growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have civil litigation experience, excellent legal writing and analytical skills, and an active California Bar license. This role offers the opportunity to represent public entities in a variety of complex litigation matters while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle all phases of civil litigation from case inception through trial.

Defend clients in tort and general liability matters.

Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery.

Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.

Draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, and other litigation documents.

Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.

Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.

Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel.

Analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic recommendations.

Maintain accurate case files and meet litigation deadlines.

Manage multiple cases while delivering high-quality legal services.

Required Qualifications:

Active California Bar License in good standing.

3+ years of civil litigation experience.

Strong experience in Tort Defense litigation.

Experience handling general liability and premises liability matters.

Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with a legal team.

Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Preferred Experience:

Public entity defense.

Law enforcement defense.

Municipal litigation.

Trial preparation and courtroom experience.

Mediation and settlement negotiations.
