Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled CNC Field Service Technician to support customers by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machine tools at client locations. This role involves extensive field service work primarily throughout Illinois and Indiana, with occasional travel to Wisconsin and Western Michigan.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with hands-on mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply, as comprehensive training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on CNC machine tools.
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment servicing at customer sites.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Assist with machine installations, calibrations, and operational testing.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding service updates and repair solutions.
Maintain accurate service reports and documentation.
Travel regularly to customer facilities within assigned regions.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in machine tool repair, CNC maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related technical fields preferred.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of CNC systems, machine tools, PLCs, and industrial controls is highly desirable.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience servicing CNC machines in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Familiarity with PLC diagnostics and industrial automation systems.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance procedures.
