About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join a growing commercial construction team. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong background in commercial concrete and masonry estimating who can accurately prepare cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive estimating experience, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects.

Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed quantity takeoffs.

Estimate commercial concrete and masonry scopes, including:

Site concrete

Architectural and decorative concrete flatwork

Cast-in-place (CIP) walls

Structural concrete (primarily foundations)

Reinforcing steel

Masonry retaining walls

Freestanding masonry walls

Analyze project requirements, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

Coordinate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients during the bidding process.

Prepare bid proposals and maintain estimating documentation.

Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.

Assist with project handoff after successful bid awards.

Maintain knowledge of current construction costs, market trends, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.

Strong experience estimating commercial concrete and masonry projects.

Required experience using HeavyBid estimating software.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and estimating principles.

Excellent analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple bids and meet strict deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with PlanSwift.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Knowledge of additional construction trades.

Experience estimating projects where the contractor serves as the General Contractor (GC).
