Construction Estimator

Location: Upper Marlboro, Maryland

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project cost estimates. This role will support successful bidding, budgeting, and preconstruction planning across a variety of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documentation
Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for construction projects
Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients during preconstruction activities
Maintain and update estimating databases, pricing records, and estimating tools
Support bid preparation, submission processes, and post-bid evaluations

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related construction role
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
