About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator / Project Manager with a strong background in commercial construction, earthwork, demolition, and foundation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both pre-construction estimating and full project lifecycle management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills who can effectively manage multiple projects and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Estimating

Identify and pursue new bidding opportunities through industry networking, client relationships, public bid postings, and assigned opportunities.

Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.

Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Develop accurate project budgets and bid proposals.

Prepare and submit complete bid packages within established deadlines.


Project Management:

Manage projects from award through completion and closeout.

Review, negotiate, and execute project contracts.

Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and project approvals.

Track project costs and monitor budgets through daily and weekly reporting.

Review and approve field reports, daily logs, and project documentation.

Prepare, track, and manage change orders.

Develop monthly cost forecasts and project projections.

Prepare project invoices and oversee billing and collections.

Coordinate project meetings and maintain communication with all stakeholders.

Maintain accurate project records and documentation.


Leadership & Collaboration:

Collaborate with field operations and management teams to develop safe and efficient construction plans.

Ensure projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Support compliance requirements and project reporting.

Assist with business development and client retention efforts.

Mentor junior project managers, estimators, and support staff.


Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction estimating and project management experience.

Experience with earthwork, demolition, foundations, heavy civil, or related construction projects preferred.

Proven experience bidding and managing commercial construction projects.

Strong understanding of construction methods, plans, specifications, and contracts.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.


Preferred Skills:

Construction estimating software experience.

Project scheduling and cost control expertise.

Contract administration experience.

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Knowledge of commercial construction regulations and safety standards.

Required Experience:

Commercial Construction Bidding: 5+ Years

Commercial Construction Project Management: 5+ Years

Earthwork, Demolition, or Foundation Construction Experience Preferred
