About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in the Livermore, CA area. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to established scope and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects for both General Contractors and Subcontractors, strong financial and scheduling skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to effectively coordinate with customers, field personnel, project engineers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Thoroughly understand project scope, objectives, deliverables, and contractual requirements.
Plan and allocate project resources effectively to meet project objectives.
Review project budgets and monitor project costs to ensure financial performance.
Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules and work plans.
Monitor project progress and make timely adjustments to maintain schedule and budget commitments.
Provide regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders regarding progress, strategy, issues, and adjustments.
Maintain timely communication with customers and respond to customer inquiries.
Work closely with the General Foreman, Foreman, Project Engineer, and customer throughout project execution.
Prepare and coordinate monthly billings for submission to the accounting department.
Identify work outside the original project scope and prepare appropriate change orders to capture additional costs and revenue.
Monitor project performance and identify opportunities for process and performance improvement.
Attend jobsite meetings and maintain strong relationships with customers and project stakeholders.
Apply construction project management best practices, techniques, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure projects are completed according to approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications:
2–4 years of construction project management or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience managing construction projects through the full project lifecycle.
Proven ability to complete projects within established scope, budget, and timeline.
Experience working for both General Contractors and Subcontractors.
Strong understanding of construction project management methodologies, processes, and best practices.
Experience with project management software and related tools.
Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, cost tracking, billing, and change orders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage multiple projects or priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
Valid California driver's license.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience with Caltrans projects.
Experience with California public works projects.
Experience with traffic control projects.
Experience with low-voltage electrical projects.
Experience working with electrical or specialty subcontractors is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work for extended periods at a desk and on a computer.
Ability to drive to construction jobsites and project locations.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
