About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Criminal Law Paralegal to support attorneys throughout all phases of criminal litigation. This role requires a detail-oriented legal professional who can manage case files, assist with trial preparation, conduct legal research, and provide comprehensive litigation support in a fast-paced legal environment.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, experience handling criminal litigation matters, and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and witnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage criminal case files from intake through trial and case resolution.
Draft, review, and file legal documents, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials.
Conduct legal research using online legal research platforms.
Organize, review, and summarize case documents and evidence.
Coordinate investigations and gather supporting documentation.
Prepare attorneys for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
Assist with witness preparation and trial exhibit organization.
Maintain court calendars, filing deadlines, and litigation schedules.
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, law enforcement agencies, and opposing counsel.
Ensure all legal documents are accurately prepared and filed in accordance with court requirements.
Maintain confidential client information and case records.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred.
2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in Criminal Law.
Strong knowledge of criminal court procedures and litigation processes.
Experience preparing pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial exhibits.
Excellent legal research and document drafting skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting attorneys during hearings and trials.
Familiarity with e-filing systems and court procedures.
Experience coordinating witnesses, experts, and evidence.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a legal team.
