About the job:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our construction team. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects by analyzing project specifications, drawings, labor requirements, materials, and subcontractor costs. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids while supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed electrical estimates, including material takeoffs, labor calculations, and bill of materials (BOMs).
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope and costs.
Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) and clarify project requirements during the bidding process.
Develop comprehensive project proposals and bid packages.
Coordinate with project managers and estimating teams to streamline bidding activities.
Evaluate material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing to ensure cost-effective project solutions.
Consult with clients, engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors regarding project requirements and cost estimates.
Track project costs and compare actual expenditures against estimated budgets.
Prepare cost reports, expenditure statements, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
Assist with budget development, schedule of values preparation, and project handoff after contract award.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes and cost control.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Post-secondary education or certification in construction management, electrical technology, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience in commercial or industrial construction preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and construction management tools.
Valid driver's license.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
