About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team in Farmington, NM. This position is responsible for performing industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electrical systems on heavy mobile equipment, plant facilities, and shop equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in industrial, mining, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environments and possess strong troubleshooting abilities while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
De-energize and isolate electrical systems using Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Troubleshoot electrical faults on heavy mobile equipment, industrial machinery, and facility electrical systems.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical conduit, wiring, motors, generators, panels, and related electrical components.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
Diagnose and repair high-voltage electrical systems, DC motors, and generators.
Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
Follow all OSHA, MSHA (if applicable), NEC, and company safety regulations.
Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems and apply electrical formulas.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing high-voltage DC motors and generators.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical school degree or certification in Industrial Electronics or Electrical Technology.
PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
Experience working on heavy mobile equipment, mining equipment, or industrial machinery.
MSHA Surface Mine Electrician certification (preferred).
Industrial, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, or heavy equipment maintenance experience.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently walk, stand, reach, bend, climb, and use hands for electrical work.
Lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
Work at heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy industrial equipment when required.
Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
Work Environment:
Industrial and outdoor work environment.
Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
Rotating shifts and overtime may be required based on operational needs.
