Job Summary:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Estate Plan Associate Attorney to join its sophisticated estate planning, estate administration, and tax practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families on comprehensive estate planning strategies while managing estate and trust administration matters. The role offers meaningful client interaction, professional growth, and the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced attorneys in a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and review comprehensive estate planning documents, including:
Wills
Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts
Powers of Attorney
Healthcare Directives and related estate planning documents
Handle estate and trust administration from inception through completion.
Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on wealth preservation and estate planning strategies.
Assist with probate and estate settlement matters.
Coordinate with tax and corporate attorneys to develop integrated estate planning solutions.
Prepare and review estate planning documentation with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive legal counsel and outstanding client service.
Manage multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Stay current on estate planning, probate, trust administration, and tax law developments.
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership and good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
3+ years of experience in estate planning and estate administration.
Experience drafting sophisticated estate planning documents for high-net-worth clients.
Strong knowledge of trusts, wills, probate, and estate administration.
Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience preparing estate tax returns.
Experience advising business owners on succession and wealth transfer planning.
Knowledge of federal and state estate and gift tax planning strategies.
