About the Job:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you will develop accurate cost estimates and quote packages in response to customer Requests for Quote (RFQs) for machined components, structural assemblies, and major aerospace assemblies. You will review engineering drawings and customer specifications, determine manufacturing methods, estimate labor, material, tooling, and processing costs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver competitive and accurate proposals.

The ideal candidate has experience with aerospace manufacturing, machining, sheet metal fabrication, or structural assemblies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for aerospace machined parts, structural components, and major assemblies.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and customer requirements.

Develop manufacturing methods, production processes, and tooling requirements for accurate cost estimation.

Estimate labor, material, outside processing, tooling, and non-recurring engineering costs.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to ensure estimate accuracy and feasibility.

Maintain and improve estimating tools, templates, and costing databases to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Review completed quotations for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.

Coordinate quote submissions and ensure all RFQs are completed within customer deadlines.

Present completed estimates and pricing recommendations to leadership for review and approval.

Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers throughout the quoting process.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes and cost optimization.

Prioritize multiple projects while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Estimator or in a similar manufacturing or aerospace role.

Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.

Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, structural assembly, and tooling.

Understanding of product costing, manufacturing methods, and profitability analysis.

Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Basic knowledge of CATIA V5 is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to ITAR regulations.


Preferred Skills:

Aerospace manufacturing experience.

Experience preparing manufacturing cost estimates and RFQs.

Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly operations.

Familiarity with tooling development and non-recurring engineering costs.

Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.

Experience working in cross-functional manufacturing environments.
