About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing construction team in Montgomery, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction estimating, cost analysis, bid preparation, and project planning. This role is responsible for developing accurate project estimates, reviewing bid opportunities, coordinating with internal teams, and supporting successful project execution from preconstruction through award.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.

Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and pricing.

Evaluate bid opportunities and assist in preparing competitive proposals.

Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.

Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing.

Develop budgets and cost analyses while identifying value engineering opportunities.

Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and bid documentation.

Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, contracts, and company standards.

Assist with procurement planning and subcontractor/vendor solicitation.

Support project planning, scheduling, and preconstruction activities.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating.

Experience estimating projects such as commercial buildings, hotels, retail, multifamily, assisted living, or similar construction projects.

Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, contracts, cost control, and bidding processes.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Experience with estimating and construction software including:
