A fast-growing California family law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Family Law Associate Attorney to join its San Jose office. This position offers the opportunity to independently manage a diverse caseload while collaborating with a supportive legal team on complex family law matters. The ideal candidate is passionate about advocacy, thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage family law cases from inception through resolution, including courtroom appearances and litigation strategy.

Handle matters involving divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence restraining orders, and paternity actions.

Conduct legal research, prepare case analyses, and develop effective legal strategies.

Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.

Represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, and settlement conferences.

Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing clear legal guidance with professionalism and empathy.

Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management and timely case progression.

Track billable hours and maintain accurate case records in compliance with firm standards.

Qualifications:

Active membership in the California State Bar.

Prior experience practicing family law is required.

Strong litigation, negotiation, research, and legal writing skills.

Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.

Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) designation or eligibility is a plus.
