About the job:

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer II to provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for advanced medical equipment in healthcare facilities and patient home environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and fluidics systems, along with exceptional customer service skills.

The Field Service Engineer II serves as a technical expert, ensuring optimal equipment performance while supporting customers, clinical staff, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Extensive travel throughout the United States, including overnight travel, is required.


Key Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair medical equipment at customer locations and patient homes.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, calibrations, software updates, hardware upgrades, and system performance verification.

Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned products and technologies.

Provide first- and second-level technical support to customers, including after-hours and weekend support when necessary.

Accurately document service activities, equipment status, repairs, and parts usage within company systems.

Maintain and manage spare parts inventory, tools, and company assets.

Complete service reports, expense reports, and administrative documentation in a timely manner.

Support product demonstrations, trade shows, seminars, and customer training activities.

Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Sales, Marketing, and Quality teams to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.

Provide detailed field feedback regarding equipment performance, serviceability, and customer experiences.

Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Fluidics, or related technical field preferred; military technical experience may be considered equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of field service, maintenance, or related industry experience.

Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and fluidics systems.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory and across the United States.

Ability to manage travel-related expenses and maintain professional customer interactions.


Preferred Skills:

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, fluidics diagrams, flowcharts, and technical documentation.

Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical activities for extended periods.

Ability to routinely lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.

Ability to work in healthcare environments with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other hazardous materials.
