About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Fixed Plant Superintendent to lead maintenance operations for a large-scale mining and mineral processing facility. This position is responsible for establishing and managing maintenance systems, building and developing a high-performing maintenance team, and ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of crushing, conveying, and gold processing equipment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy industrial or mining environments, strong leadership abilities, and expertise in reliability-centered maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and fixed plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all maintenance activities for crushing, conveying, processing, and associated fixed plant equipment.
Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
Support plant commissioning, startup, and maintenance readiness activities.
Oversee maintenance of crushers, conveyors, pumps, piping systems, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and processing equipment.
Maintain process plant equipment, including leach systems, carbon handling systems, elution circuits, electrowinning equipment, reagent systems, and supporting infrastructure.
Implement condition monitoring programs such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
Recruit, train, mentor, and lead maintenance personnel while coordinating contractors and service providers.
Establish maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), asset management standards, and CMMS processes.
Plan maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, tooling requirements, and contractor resources.
Monitor maintenance KPIs including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance backlog, and maintenance costs.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, metallurgy, and project teams to improve plant performance and equipment reliability.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of maintenance experience in mining, mineral processing, gold processing, aggregates, or other heavy industrial operations.
5+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong experience maintaining crushing plants, conveyors, and fixed plant equipment.
Experience supporting ADR process plants, heap leach operations, or similar gold recovery systems is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Hands-on experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Greenfield project, commissioning, or startup experience is preferred.
Mechanical trade certification, technical diploma, or related engineering degree is an advantage.
Excellent leadership, communication, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license.
