About the role

Hardware Development Engineer Level 2

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Job Type: Full-Time Contract

Schedule: 40 hours/week, 5 days/week

Start Date: July 6, 2026

Estimated End Date: June 30, 2027


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware for industrial automation products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams on product architecture and hardware verification.
  • Program, analyze, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and design documentation.
  • Prepare product design documentation and test reports.
  • Research and implement new technologies and circuit design tools.
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Develop test automation and design simulation solutions.
  • Work with technical teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in cross-functional hardware product development.
  • Experience with design capture tools and the ability to read and understand schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit theory and electronic hardware.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: microprocessors, digital logic, analog design, DC-power conversion, CPLDs, FPGAs, Ethernet, or wireless technology.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
  • Familiarity with functional safety, EMC, or other electronics industry compliance standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Python and/or C++ programming experience.
  • Experience developing automated hardware testing applications.
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61508 and/or IEC 61000 standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Growth mindset with willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.

Work Authorization

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
