Hiring Senior UX Designer / UX Researcher Senior – Accessibility Specialist
Location: Iowa – Local/Regional Candidates Preferred
Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Occasional In-Office Meetings
Contract: 10/05/2026 – 06/30/2027
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of professional UX Design / UX Research experience
- Strong UX Research and User Research experience
- Usability Testing and usability lab experience
- Heuristic Evaluation
- Information Architecture
- Card Sorting
- User Journey Mapping and Persona Development
- Figma – advanced proficiency
- Wireframing and Interactive Prototyping
- Accessibility / A11y
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA
- Accessibility Auditing
- Keyboard Navigation
- Focus Management
- Color Contrast
- User-Centered Design / Design Thinking
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration
Preferred Skills:
- Hotjar, Crazy Egg, or similar analytics/heat-map tools
- Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) training/certification
- Google UX Design Certification
- HCI / UX education
- U.S. Web Design System (USWDS)
- HTML5, CSS/SASS
- Angular or MVC/.NET environment experience
- State/Government UX experience
Important:
- Iowa local/regional candidates are preferred.
- Candidate must be available for occasional in-office meetings.
- Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
- Interviews are scheduled for September 14–15, 2026.
- Background check and fingerprinting are required prior to start.
- Candidate must be available for the interview and comply with State of Iowa contractor requirements.
