About the Job:

A leading law firm is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing Housing Law practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact housing, land use, and public policy matters affecting communities throughout California. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, exceptional legal writing skills, and an interest in housing and municipal law.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle litigation matters related to housing, land use, and public agency law.

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal analysis.

Prepare and argue dispositive motions.

Support litigation involving housing regulations, land use disputes, and municipal law matters.

Collaborate with attorneys and clients on complex legal issues impacting California communities.

Manage case files and meet litigation deadlines.

Participate in client meetings, hearings, and court appearances as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active admission to practice law in California.

Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.

Experience with writs of mandate, municipal/public entity litigation, land use law, or related practice areas preferred.

Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Excellent organizational and case management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience or demonstrated interest in housing and land use law.

Familiarity with affordable housing regulations, housing elements, housing accountability laws, builder's remedy matters, and land use litigation.

Interest in public policy and community development issues.
