Job Title: Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (Associate / Engineer / Lead Level)

Location: Delta, Utah

Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to provide expert-level engineering support for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a large-scale power generation facility.

This role focuses on DCS and PLC systems, industrial instrumentation, monitoring systems, and control logic that support critical plant operations. The position also includes electrical engineering responsibilities related to power distribution, MCCs, transformers, protective relaying, grounding systems, and equipment integration, ensuring seamless coordination between electrical and control systems.

Depending on experience and qualifications, candidates may be considered for Associate Engineer, Engineer, or Lead Engineer level roles.


Key Responsibilities:

Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of plant control systems and instrumentation

Develop, review, and implement control logic, technical specifications, engineering drawings, and system modifications

Conduct field investigations, testing, and performance analysis of control and electrical systems

Lead and support plant upgrades, capital projects, outages, and system commissioning activities

Drive engineering initiatives focused on improving system reliability, efficiency, and operational performance

Provide technical guidance and support to Operations and Maintenance teams

Maintain accurate engineering documentation and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards

Collaborate with plant personnel, engineers, technicians, and external stakeholders


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET/CEAB-accredited program, or a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized in Utah

Experience with industrial control systems (power generation experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of DCS, PLCs, HMIs, control logic, and field instrumentation

Familiarity with applicable electrical and instrumentation industry standards and codes

Ability to prepare technical documentation, specifications, and engineering reports

Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments

Ability to adapt to changing operational priorities and work in a dynamic environment

Must pass background and security screening
