About the role
This is a hybrid position offering the opportunity to work on instrumentation, controls, and industrial automation projects while collaborating with experienced engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate cost estimates for instrumentation and controls projects.
- Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, control panel drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform site visits and job walks to support estimating and project planning.
- Prepare comprehensive pricing proposals covering instrumentation, PLC hardware, HMI/SCADA systems, electrical materials, control panels, field installation, programming, commissioning, and project management.
- Coordinate with engineering, programming, fabrication, and field teams throughout the estimating process.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations and prepare scopes of work, proposal documentation, clarifications, and exclusions.
- Support project handoffs, budget development, change orders, and continuous process improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in estimating, controls engineering, project management, or instrumentation and controls.
- Experience in water/wastewater, industrial automation, or electrical construction is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of PLC-based control systems, instrumentation, electrical systems, HMI/SCADA platforms, industrial networking, and field instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and construction specifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with estimating software and AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Travel:
This role requires local travel to client and project sites, with occasional overnight travel as needed.
