About the job:

A leading law firm is seeking a highly motivated Midlevel Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with 4–7 years of employment law experience to join its Labor & Employment practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated employment matters, collaborate with experienced legal professionals, and build strong client relationships while providing strategic legal counsel and litigation support.


Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support employment litigation matters in state and federal courts.

Conduct depositions, court appearances, hearings, and other litigation-related activities.

Draft and argue dispositive motions, including summary judgment motions and motions to compel arbitration.

Prepare discovery requests, responses, and related litigation documents.

Assist with class and collective action matters, including wage and hour litigation.

Draft settlement agreements, separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and employment-related contracts.

Advise clients on employment law compliance, workplace policies, employee handbooks, leave and accommodation issues, performance management, disciplinary actions, hiring, and terminations.

Conduct labor and employment due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

Lead matters independently while supervising and mentoring junior attorneys.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.


Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Active bar admission in good standing or eligibility for admission in the applicable jurisdiction.

4–7 years of labor and employment law experience.

Strong academic credentials and exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Experience handling employment litigation, including depositions and court appearances.

Experience with wage and hour matters, single-plaintiff litigation, and class/collective actions preferred.

Federal clerkship experience is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Strong client counseling, communication, and business development skills.


Preferred Experience:

Summary judgment motions and other dispositive briefing.

Motions to compel arbitration.

Discovery management and litigation strategy.

Class certification opposition briefing and related litigation support.

Wage and hour class/collective action settlements.

Employment agreements and workplace policy development.

Labor and employment due diligence for M&A transactions.

Employment law counseling and compliance guidance.
