About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Financial Systems Analyst to support and optimize financial systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence operations within a professional services environment. This role will serve as a key liaison between Finance and IT teams, ensuring financial applications, workflows, and reporting systems operate efficiently and accurately.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with legal financial platforms, financial reporting, SQL development, and business intelligence tools, along with the ability to analyze processes and improve operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Systems Support & Maintenance:

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for financial applications, billing systems, collections software, expense management tools, time-entry systems, and reporting platforms.

Assist with software upgrades, implementations, configurations, and system enhancements.

Maintain and support custom Microsoft Access applications using VBA best practices.

Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth financial system operations and integrations.


Data Analytics & Reporting:

Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytics using SQL, SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and related BI tools.

Write and execute SQL queries/scripts to validate, analyze, and maintain financial data.

Create ad hoc reports and analytical insights for leadership and business stakeholders.

Support data governance and ensure data accuracy across systems.


Process Improvement & Optimization:

Analyze existing finance workflows and identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.

Streamline reporting procedures and financial processes using technology solutions.

Participate in system enhancement initiatives and financial technology projects.

Document technical procedures, workflows, and system specifications.


Collaboration & Project Support:

Work closely with Finance and IT teams on system-related initiatives and troubleshooting.

Support testing activities during upgrades, implementations, and process changes.

Manage multiple priorities and projects within tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.

4+ years of experience supporting financial systems and reporting environments.

Strong understanding of financial concepts, reporting structures, and business metrics.

Experience with legal financial systems such as Aderant, Intapp Time, Emburse, and BigHand applications.

Strong SQL and database management skills.

Experience with reporting and BI tools including Power BI, SSRS, and Excel.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Access, VBA, and Office 365 applications.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
