About the job:

Seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic insurance defense practice. The successful candidate will represent corporate clients, transportation carriers, retail organizations, and insurers in complex litigation matters throughout New York State. This role offers substantial courtroom exposure, case management responsibilities, and opportunities to develop litigation strategy from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation matters.

Conduct pre-suit and post-suit investigations.

Develop case strategies based on factual and legal analysis.

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other legal documents.

Prepare and argue motions before state courts.

Attend and participate in pretrial conferences, hearings, and court appearances.

Manage discovery and coordinate investigations, including on-site inspections when necessary.

Communicate effectively with clients and provide regular case status updates and reporting.

Perform legal research and prepare written legal analyses.

Collaborate with attorneys, experts, and support staff to achieve favorable case outcomes.

Qualifications:

Active admission to practice law in the State of New York.

Minimum of 2–4 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.

Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective case strategies.

Excellent verbal communication and client relationship management skills.

Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Prior trial experience is preferred.

Experience handling insurance defense matters.

Strong motion practice and courtroom advocacy skills.

Experience conducting investigations and coordinating with experts.
