Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support multiple attorneys and staff members within a busy civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Rogers, AR.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct legal and non-legal research.
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Assist attorneys with case management, strategy, and overall case progression.
Support attorneys with deposition preparation, including preparing witness question outlines and organizing exhibits.
Handle all aspects of the discovery process, including:
Preparing discovery requests.
Preparing discovery objections and responses.
Issuing subpoenas.
Coordinating depositions.
Assist with gathering, reviewing, organizing, and producing documents during discovery.
Attend depositions when requested and assist attorneys with preparation.
Prepare summaries of depositions, documents, and medical records.
Assist with trial preparation, including:
Preparing trial and exhibit notebooks.
Organizing exhibits and supporting documentation.
Assisting with direct and cross-examination preparation.
Coordinating travel arrangements and trial resources.
Provide support during trials as needed.
Track billable hours, expenses, and other accounting-related responsibilities.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive legal and client information.
Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, staff, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of paralegal experience required.
Litigation experience strongly preferred.
Experience in healthcare law, medical malpractice, or medical litigation in a law firm or legal department.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of an accredited paralegal or legal assistant program preferred.
Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and document preparation skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of information.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet demanding deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a legal team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
