Shift: 2nd Shift – Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a manufacturing operation in Saint Paul, MN. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining production equipment and facility systems, responding to equipment breakdowns, and supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, basic electrical knowledge, and experience working with industrial or manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
  • Respond quickly to production equipment breakdowns and identify the root cause of issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical problems.
  • Work with:
  • Pumps and motors
  • Valves and sensors
  • Bearings and seals
  • Hoses and piping
  • Electrical components and controls
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Perform basic fabrication, assembly, installation, modification, and equipment repairs.
  • Support facility systems including:
  • Ventilation and exhaust
  • Compressed air
  • Water systems
  • Wastewater systems
  • Heating systems
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Maintain an organized maintenance area and ensure tools, parts, and supplies are available.
  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and required PPE.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or production environments.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, valves, sensors, piping, bearings, and related industrial equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment/meters.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
  • Ability to work independently and know when to escalate issues.
  • Reliable attendance and strong attention to safety.

  • Preventive/predictive maintenance

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Warm, humid, wet, and noisy areas
  • Possible exposure to chemical odors
  • Work may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and working in tight or elevated areas
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures
