Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join a growing litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling medical malpractice and/or healthcare litigation matters and be comfortable managing cases, working directly with clients, and handling assignments with minimal supervision.

This opportunity is well suited for an attorney who wants to work on sophisticated healthcare-related litigation matters while having the flexibility of a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle medical malpractice and healthcare litigation matters through various stages of litigation.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, opinion letters, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Review and analyze medical records, discovery materials, and other documents for relevance, privilege, liability, and case strategy.
  • Prepare for, attend, and summarize depositions.
  • Coordinate with witnesses, medical professionals, experts, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Communicate directly with clients, courts, opposing counsel, co-counsel, and other parties.
  • Assist with hearings, mediations, trial preparation, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable New Jersey/Pennsylvania rules, Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP, codes, and regulations.
  • Independently manage assignments, deadlines, and caseload while collaborating with attorneys and litigation support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania Bar.
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience focused on medical malpractice or healthcare litigation.
  • Strong litigation, legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and persuasive advocacy abilities.
  • Experience preparing for and handling depositions.
  • Ability to analyze complex medical and legal issues.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
