About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Millwork and Cabinetry Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and specialty woodworking projects. The ideal candidate will review architectural drawings, perform material takeoffs, develop competitive bids, oversee the drafting process, review shop drawings, and collaborate with project managers, production teams, architects, designers, and clients throughout the preconstruction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for custom millwork, cabinetry, and woodworking projects.
Review architectural, structural, and interior design drawings, specifications, and finish schedules.
Perform complete material takeoffs, quantity surveys, and cost analyses.
Develop project budgets, proposals, and bid packages.
Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.
Coordinate with project management, purchasing, production, and field teams during preconstruction.
Lead and manage the estimating and drafting process for cabinetry and casework projects.
Coordinate with and review work completed by third-party drafting vendors.
Review and approve shop drawings before client submission.
Manage drawing revisions and approval workflows with architects, designers, builders, and homeowners.
Maintain project documentation using ERP/CRM systems.
Participate in project handoff meetings after contract award.
Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
3–5+ years of estimating experience in custom millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, or architectural millwork.
Strong knowledge of residential construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and interior design drawings.
Experience preparing detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
