About the role

Job Title: Application Developer   

Location: Remote (Occasional onsite meetings in Oklahoma City, OK)  

Duration: Long-Term Contract 

 Job Summary

The Client is seeking Application Developers to support a large-scale modernization initiative focused on replacing legacy pension systems with a modern, cloud-native Azure platform. The selected candidates will design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications while working closely with business analysts, testers, and project managers in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications.
  • Develop high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.
  • Build and maintain APIs, system integrations, and automation workflows.
  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, and submit pull requests.
  • Translate technical specifications into production-ready applications.
  • Develop and refine user stories, technical documentation, and maintain backlog items.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, testers, and project managers.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and SDLC activities.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and deliver high-quality solutions with minimal defects.
  • Support modernization of legacy applications to Azure-based technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of application development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of modern application development frameworks and programming languages.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Knowledge of business process analysis, functional design, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience developing REST APIs, system integrations, and automation workflows.
  • Strong coding, debugging, unit testing, documentation, and code review experience.
  • Ability to deliver production-ready, maintainable software.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Azure cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with legacy application modernization and enterprise system integrations.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar development and work management tools.

Work Location

  • Remote position with occasional onsite meetings in Oklahoma City, OK.
  • Travel expenses will not be reimbursed.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours (Monday–Friday), with flexibility as approved by the project team.
