About the job:

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Quality Supervisor to lead quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing environment supporting nuclear, industrial, and pressure vessel fabrication operations. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, quality management systems, and industry specifications while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout production.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive manufacturing quality experience, and a solid understanding of nuclear quality programs, welding processes, pressure vessels, inspections, audits, and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily quality assurance and quality control activities.

Lead and manage quality technicians, inspectors, and support personnel.

Conduct employee performance evaluations, coaching, development, and disciplinary actions as required.

Manage staffing, scheduling, overtime, and workforce planning.

Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and procedures.

Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and customer concerns, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.

Analyze quality metrics, inspection data, and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement.

Conduct internal process audits and support supplier audits to verify compliance with quality requirements.

Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and management teams to improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Develop and deliver quality-related training programs and cross-functional training initiatives.

Maintain accurate quality documentation, records, reports, and audit findings.

Support root cause analysis, continuous improvement projects, and corrective action programs.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.


Required Qualifications:

Minimum 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 6 years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Ability to effectively interact with production personnel, engineers, maintenance teams, and executive leadership.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and foster employee development.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with pressure vessel manufacturing and fabrication processes.

Knowledge of welding operations, welding symbols, and blueprint interpretation.

Familiarity with ASME standards, including ASME Section VIII Division 1.

Experience with Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods and requirements.

Knowledge of NQA-1 nuclear quality assurance programs.

Internal and supplier auditing experience.

Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.

Proven experience supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including entire shifts.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach as needed.

Ability to work in industrial manufacturing environments, including exposure to varying temperatures.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to read measuring instruments, technical drawings, and inspection documentation.

Must possess adequate vision, depth perception, and attention to detail for inspection-related activities.
