Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health (RN)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No Weekends

Compensation: $38–$55 per hour + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Behavioral Health Nurse Manager (RN) to lead and oversee the daily operations of a Behavioral Health department within an acute care hospital setting. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and achievement of departmental goals related to quality, productivity, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong behavioral health clinical expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the Behavioral Health department.
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered behavioral health services.
• Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and support departmental performance goals.
• Monitor productivity, budget adherence, and resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
• Support staff development through mentoring, education, and professional growth opportunities.
• Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and excellence in patient care.
• Serve as a change agent and role model for organizational initiatives and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN License eligible for Florida practice.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
• Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) Certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Nursing Supervisor, Administrative Supervisor, or Nurse Manager within an acute care setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
