Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Position : Patient Access Representative

Location : Penn Yan, NY

Contract : 16weeks

Shift : Full Time Day/Evening variable shift scheduled as needed by facility + every other weekend

Pay : $18 - $21

Stipend : Available

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous business office, customer service, or retail experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with confidential patient and financial information

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in a hospital, physician office, healthcare registration, or related business environment.
• Experience with electronic health records and insurance verification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Register, admit, discharge, and transfer patients accurately and efficiently.
• Provide professional and customer-focused service to patients and visitors.
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and medical information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations and pre-certifications.
• Enter patient and registration information accurately into the electronic health record.
• Collect co-payments, payments, and deposits and balance cash receipts.
• Obtain required patient signatures, forms, and financial documentation.
• Maintain accurate patient identification and protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow HIPAA, Medicare, hospital policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with patient access procedures during emergencies and other special situations.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, financial, and administrative departments.
