About the job:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing Designer II to join our engineering design team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary design teams to develop high-quality plumbing system designs for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in plumbing design, proficiency in industry-standard software, and a commitment to delivering accurate and coordinated construction documents.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare complete plumbing permit and construction documents with minimal supervision.
Develop and modify plumbing system designs using Revit and AutoCAD.
Perform plumbing design calculations and analyses to support project requirements.
Research and apply applicable plumbing codes, standards, and regulations.
Coordinate effectively with project teams and other engineering disciplines to ensure design accuracy and project integration.
Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to improve project quality and efficiency.
Conduct site visits as needed to verify field conditions and resolve design-related challenges.
Maintain ownership and accountability for assigned projects and deliverables.
Support project schedules and deadlines while ensuring high-quality work products.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent plumbing design training and experience will also be considered.
Proven experience in plumbing system design and drafting within an engineering, consulting, architectural, or construction environment.
Proficiency with:
Revit
AutoCAD
Microsoft Office Suite
Bluebeam
Other relevant design and documentation software
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and regulations, including applicable building and fire protection requirements.
Experience working within professional A/E firms, consulting engineering organizations, or construction environments.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
Field experience and understanding of construction practices preferred.
Ability to travel to project sites as required.
