About the role

Position: Process Engineer

Job Overview

The Process Engineer will support manufacturing operations by analyzing and improving production processes, reducing defects and waste, improving productivity, and supporting ongoing quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment, technologies, and methods to improve productivity and reduce waste and defects.
  • Investigate production and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, process variation, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement preventative measures to minimize quality issues.
  • Establish and improve work procedures based on production requirements and equipment capabilities.
  • Address non-conforming products or processes in accordance with established quality procedures.
  • Support employee training related to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards.
  • Assist with hazardous waste management in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct internal quality and 5S audits as assigned.
  • Support quality, safety, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with chemical mixing operations, including material specifications, process methods, and personnel training.
  • Participate in QMS/EMS activities, internal and external audits, documentation, recordkeeping, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and procedures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in film manufacturing is a plus; other engineering backgrounds may be considered based on relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Comfortable working with computer systems and manufacturing-related software.
  • Hazard Communication and Hazardous Materials Operations training is preferred or required.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment where exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, moving mechanical equipment, and moderate to loud noise may occur. The role also requires the ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
