Location: United States (Remote with travel/relocation to Texas required)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

The Project Engineer – Titanium is responsible for leading projects from initial design through full production approval while ensuring successful execution across all manufacturing phases. This role manages tooling, fixtures, gauging, production processes, routings, scheduling, dimensional validation, cost management, profitability, and customer communication.

The position focuses heavily on titanium manufacturing projects and supports growth within aerospace, defense, automotive, and medical industries. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, improve manufacturing processes, and deliver high-quality components that meet customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead intermediate-level manufacturing projects involving part redesign, mold setups, secondary operations, component sub-assemblies, and subcontractor coordination across multiple facilities.

Manage 10 or more active projects simultaneously while ensuring timelines, quality, and customer requirements are achieved.

Support advanced manufacturing markets including aerospace, defense, automotive, and medical industries.

Improve manufacturing performance in investment casting processes including dip/dewax, tooling design, melting, and heat treatment.

Develop, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing methods through production sampling, process analysis, and customer feedback.

Determine manufacturing process steps, tooling, gauging, materials, and supplies to achieve cost-effective production.

Support quality activities for new projects, including customer documentation, issue resolution, and complaint investigations.

Participate in operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives with leadership teams.

Provide technical expertise to improve manufacturing operations and production efficiency.

Assist during urgent production or line-down situations when required.

Ensure compliance with safety, health, quality, and housekeeping standards.

Travel occasionally between manufacturing plants and customer or supplier locations.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field with at least 3 years of related experience, or equivalent experience.

Experience with titanium manufacturing, investment casting, and aerospace/defense industries is required.

Strong understanding of tooling, material properties, machining, and manufacturing practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, work instructions, and technical reports.

Familiarity with ISO, IATF, and AS quality standards.

Knowledge of GD&T principles and continuous flow manufacturing.

Experience with CAD software, NX (UniGraphics), SolidCast, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across teams and customers.


Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands regularly throughout the workday.

Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Work environment may include exposure to machinery, fumes, and moderate noise levels.

Required to wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses and safety shoes in manufacturing areas.
