About the job:

The Project Engineer (PE) will be primarily responsible for obtaining, distributing and reporting on critical project information to the project stakeholders. In this role, the PE will coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and consultants. The PE is the on-site expert on the status of submittals, Request for Information (RFIs), materials, safety documentation, drawing updates, and all other relevant project documents.


Responsibilities / Essential Functions:

  • Willing to travel nationwide
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of all project documentation
  • Distribute all design changes/updates to the project team and subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit RFIs to the design team and distribute responses
  • Create and manage submittal logs for projects
  • Coordinate subcontractor submittals and documentation
  • Upload and track safety documentation
  • Conduct safety walk-throughs with field and safety staff
  • Track subcontractor insurance compliance
  • Maintain field reports and project observations
  • Upload and distribute punch list items
  • Track project progress photos and documentation
  • Maintain accurate material delivery logs
  • Coordinate with subcontractors regarding delivery schedules
  • Communicate delays and long lead item impacts to the project team
  • Verify delivered materials match approved submittals
  • Generate meeting agendas and distribute meeting minutes
  • Track project action items and commitments
  • Report on RFIs, submittals and critical project issues
  • Support pre-job, subcontractor safety and quality meetings
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, consultants and design teams
  • Assist with jobsite office operations and daily coordination

Required Experience:

  • Previous traveling Project Engineer experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture preferred
  • Understanding of construction schedules, budgets and project documentation
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • OSHA 10 Hour and OSHA 30 preferred
  • Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Sage or Timberline preferred
