About the role

Project Manager

 

Client has been in business for over 30 years, specializing in asbestos abatement, demolition, and general construction. We are seeking an ambitious Project Manager looking for a long-term home with an established and growing company.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in strict accordance with project specifications, plans, and local codes.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion
  • Monitor project budgets and control costs throughout all phases of construction
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
  • Review and manage ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals
  • Ensure subcontractors are fully executing their contracted scope of work
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions
  • Identify and resolve conflicts in construction progress, escalating as needed
  • Conduct and preside over weekly project meetings
  • Issue notices of non-compliance related to quality or scheduling
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting
  • Oversee project closeout, punch lists, and final inspections

Secondary Functions:

  • Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts
  • Assist in obtaining permits and approval of revisions
  • Manage material submittals and maintain approval records
  • Identify out-of-scope work and communicate to appropriate parties
  • Preside at pre-construction meetings with subcontractors

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, trades, and project delivery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook); experience with construction management software preferred
  • Blueprint reading and plan interpretation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, client relations, and subcontractor management
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable construction project management experience
  • Experience in commercial, healthcare, or multi-family construction preferred
  • PMP certification or equivalent a plus
  • Valid driver's license required
