About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful execution of utility-scale solar EPC construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and project closeout. This individual will be responsible for overall project execution, financial performance, contractual compliance, client relationships, scheduling, cost control, procurement coordination, and team leadership while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution:
Lead the complete project lifecycle from preconstruction handoff through commissioning and closeout.
Develop and implement comprehensive Project Execution Plans (PEP).
Manage project schedules, procurement activities, labor planning, and subcontractor coordination.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize cost and schedule impacts.
Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans when necessary.
Scheduling & Operations:
Develop and maintain master construction schedules.
Track project milestones, critical path activities, and overall schedule performance.
Coordinate activities between Superintendents, QA/QC, Safety, Procurement, and Engineering teams.
Conduct regular project coordination meetings and ensure seamless communication across departments.
Financial Management:
Own overall project P&L and financial performance.
Monitor project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete, and financial reporting.
Manage project cash flow, billing schedules, receivables, and subcontractor payments.
Identify, negotiate, and manage change orders while protecting project margins.
Ensure accurate cost tracking and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract & Client Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding contractual and financial matters.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, project scope, and documentation requirements.
Support claims management through accurate documentation and project records.
Leadership:
Lead and mentor Assistant Project Managers and project support staff.
Partner closely with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution.
Promote accountability, collaboration, safety, and quality across project teams.
Support employee development and performance management.
Compliance & Quality:
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and safety requirements.
Coordinate inspections with QA/QC and Safety teams.
Maintain organized project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and turnover packages.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of construction experience, preferably within utility-scale solar EPC projects.
Minimum 2+ years of Project Management experience in utility-scale solar construction.
Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and job cost accounting.
Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, contracts, and project financials.
Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Spanish language proficiency is required.
Willingness to travel up to 75%.
