About the role:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team in Valley City, Ohio. This position is responsible for operating metal stamping punch press equipment, performing quality inspections, and producing metal stampings according to established production schedules and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations:

Operate metal stamping punch press equipment safely and efficiently.

Produce quality metal stampings in accordance with production schedules and established run rates.

Monitor production processes and maintain continuous operation of assigned equipment.

Follow dispatch lists and work order instructions to prioritize production requirements.

Ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently achieved.


Quality Control & Inspection:

Perform in-process inspections as outlined in control plans and work instructions.

Utilize attribute and variable gauges to verify product specifications.

Collect and record Statistical Process Control (SPC) data when required.

Identify and report non-conforming products or process deviations.

Stop production and notify supervision when parts fall outside established specifications.

Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.


Equipment & Safety:

Conduct routine equipment safety checks and inspections.

Verify tooling readiness prior to production runs.

Perform basic press maintenance and report equipment issues.

Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times on the production floor.

Follow all workplace safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.


Communication & Coordination:

Coordinate material requirements with material handling personnel.

Communicate production needs, scrap removal requests, and product movement requirements.

Report equipment malfunctions, mis-hits, and production issues to supervision.

Accurately record labor time and production quantities using company systems.

Collaborate effectively with production leaders, supervisors, and support personnel.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Previous manufacturing, production, metal stamping, machine operation, or punch press experience preferred.

Ability to demonstrate safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.


Technical Skills:

Basic computer skills.

Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation.

Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspection processes is a plus.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to learn new processes and continuously improve performance.

Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Reliable transportation to and from work.

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and manipulate materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Frequent standing throughout the work shift.

Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks.

Ability to work in a manufacturing and production environment while wearing required PPE.
